Institutional Collaboration

Grant Partnerships

Theia Institute works with partner organizations to apply for grants from foundations, public agencies, and other external funders. Theia does not award grants.

Ways to Work Together

Who Will Lead the Proposal?

Theia or your organization can serve as the lead applicant. Together, we define each partner’s role before submitting.

Partner-Led Proposals

Your organization leads the application and invites Theia to help shape the proposal or contribute expertise.

Share the funding opportunity and deadline, if known.
Tell us what role you’d like Theia to play.
Agree on responsibilities and commitments before submitting.

Theia-Led Proposals

Theia leads the application and invites partners to help develop the proposal or carry out part of the work if funded.

Share your organization’s relevant experience.
Describe what your team can deliver.
Agree on scope and commitments before submitting.

What We Could Build Together

Examples of projects we could propose to funders.

AI Assurance Pilot

Help public agencies test AI safeguards and document the results before deployment.

Cyber Resilience Exercises

Help public-service organizations rehearse incident response and develop recovery playbooks.

Responsible AI Workforce Training

Help job seekers use AI safely, verify its outputs, and protect sensitive information at work.

How Partnerships Work

Introduce Your Organization

We review mission fit, relevant experience, and capacity. Approved organizations may e-sign an annual letter of support and withdraw it at any time. Both organizations approve project-specific commitments separately.

Tell us what you’d like to pursue together or what your organization could contribute.

Your organization leads: Share the funding opportunity, deadline if known, and the role you envision for Theia.

Theia leads: Share your relevant experience and what your organization can deliver.

Still exploring: Tell us about your organization and where you see potential to collaborate.

Theia Institute brings vetted organizations together to pursue grants from external funders; Theia is not offering or awarding grants. After review, selected partners receive a one-year electronic collaboration letter to review and sign, with the right to revoke it at any time. Specific grant commitments require separate agreement.
