THEIA INSTITUTE | PROJECT IN DEVELOPMENT
Theia AI Assurance Initiative
Turning responsible AI principles into measurable institutional practice.
Theia Institute is developing a practical initiative to help public institutions and civil society organizations assess how AI is governed, secured, and independently evaluated. Our focus is evidence: clear responsibilities, documented safeguards, and meaningful human oversight.
What the Project Will Address
Measurable Governance
Translate AI commitments into responsibilities, documented controls, and evidence that institutions can review.
Security and Human Oversight
Examine how AI risks are identified, escalated, and managed, with clear authority for human intervention.
Independent Evaluation
Develop approaches to evaluating governance practices and tracking improvements over time.
From Framework to Practice
Proposed pilot activities include an institutional readiness assessment, a practical evaluation toolkit, targeted workshops, and an implementation guide. Pilot scope and measures of success will be developed with participating institutions and delivery partners.
This initiative is in development. Pilot sites, funding, and delivery arrangements have not yet been confirmed.
Build the Next Phase With Us
We welcome conversations with public institutions, universities, civil society organizations, foundations, and development partners interested in shaping, piloting, or funding this work.
